Terms & Conditions
Thank you for joining Drenched Expeditions, an adventure-focused, collaborative expedition at sea. This is not a commercial tour or cruise. All participants will be joining as active crew members and are expected to contribute to the success and safety of the journey.
By confirming your participation, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:
1.
Nature of the Expedition

This is a working expedition and not a leisure charter or tourism activity.

Participants are considered volunteer crew, not paying passengers.

All participants agree to actively contribute through daily chores, cooking rotations, cleaning, and watch duties as assigned by the captain or crew leadership.
2.
Travel Insurance (Mandatory)

All participants are required to obtain comprehensive travel insurance that includes:

Medical evacuation
-
Trip interruption or cancellation
-
Coverage for injury, illness, and loss of personal belongings
-
Scuba diving and other high-risk water activities (if applicable)​

Proof of insurance must be provided prior to embarkation.

3.
Weather & Navigation Contingencies
-
Safety is our top priority. The ocean is unpredictable, and weather may cause delays or necessitate route changes at any time.

If poor weather or maritime hazards arise, the captain may:
-
Alter or shorten the itinerary
-
Skip locations or anchorages
-
Divert to an alternative final destination
-

Refunds or partial refunds will not be issued due to weather-related changes.
4.
Arrival Delays or Route Changes
​
-
We do not guarantee arrival to the planned final destination by a specific date or time.
-
If the expedition is delayed or rerouted, participants are responsible for adjusting or covering costs of their own onward travel, flights, or accommodation.
-
If the vessel is forced to change the final destination, this does not constitute grounds for a refund or claim.
5.
Vessel or Equipment Failure

In the event of a mechanical failure (engine, systems, navigation, etc.) or critical equipment malfunction (e.g., dive compressor, water maker), the captain will take reasonable steps to resolve the issue or reach the nearest safe harbor.

Expeditions may be delayed, paused, or canceled if such failures occur.

No refunds will be provided for downtime due to repair or recovery. Travel insurance should cover these risks.
6.
Participant Responsibilities

Participants agree to:
-
Respect all crew and fellow expedition members.
-
Complete assigned cooking, cleaning, maintenance, and watch duties.
-
Keep common areas clean and organized.
-
Refrain from bringing prohibited items (see below).
-
Acknowledge that participation requires physical stamina and a willingness to adapt to challenging conditions.
7.
Injury or Illness

In the event of illness or injury aboard, the captain will take all reasonable measures to provide aid or reach medical assistance.
-
Participants are responsible for all medical costs, including evacuation or repatriation, through their travel insurance.
-
Drenched Expeditions is not liable for injuries sustained during participation in onboard activities, dives, excursions, or transit.

8.
Early Departure
If a participant chooses to leave the expedition early for any reason:
-
No refunds or reimbursements will be provided.
-
They are responsible for their own travel from the nearest accessible port.
9.
Dismissal by Captain
​
The captain reserves the right to remove a participant from the vessel for any reason, including:
-
Disrespectful or dangerous behavior
-
Insubordination or non-cooperation
-
Use of prohibited substances
-
Jeopardizing crew safety or morale
Participants dismissed from the expedition are not entitled to refunds and must disembark at the next safe port, covering their own onward travel expenses.
10.
Prohibited Items & Behaviors

Absolutely NO recreational drugs (including marijuana, even if legal in your home country)
-
No cigarette smoking onboard (for safety and health of others)
-
No excessive drinking or unsafe behavior under the influence
-
No fireworks, weapons, or hazardous items
11.
Family or Medical Emergencies
​
In case of emergency (e.g. a family crisis or medical need requiring evacuation):
-
Drenched Expeditions will support the participant in arranging transport to the nearest port or evacuation route.
-
Any costs involved in emergency travel, flights, or medical services are solely the responsibility of the participant and their travel insurance provider.

12.
Assumption of Risk

Sailing and diving are inherently dangerous activities. By joining, you acknowledge and accept all associated risks including injury, illness, drowning, decompression sickness, sunstroke, and other hazards.

You release Drenched Expeditions, its crew, owners, and partners from all liability related to participation in the expedition.

13.
Photography & Media Release

By joining Drenched Expeditions, all participants acknowledge and agree that filming and photography will take place throughout the voyage.
-
By being onboard, participants consent to the use of their image, voice, and likeness in any photo, video, audio, or other media recorded during the expedition.
-
While individuals are not required to speak on camera, we cannot guarantee exclusion from group shots or background footage, especially in communal areas or during activities.
-
All recorded media may be used by Drenched Expeditions for promotional, documentary, educational, or commercial purposes, including social media, YouTube, and other public or broadcast platforms.
-
If a participant has a specific concern regarding media exposure, they must notify the crew in writing prior to embarkation so reasonable accommodations can be made (where possible).
